There are several vague references to the use of RFID in Metal Shelving environment.

Considering the amount of investment made on these shelves, does anyone offer a practical solution to track books in metal shelving environment

The Danish RFID specification is now avaiable here:
http://www.bs.dk/standards/RFID%20Data%20Model%20for%20Libraries.pdf

This specification will be part of a Danish Standard Technical Report in some months by adding a Danish and an English summary. We now start a period with circulate the draft Technical Report among national standard bodies in Europe for consideration.
