I would love to see something done where new technologies were introduce once a week. I know that this has been done before, but rather than a week long conference(by the time I travel to and from the west coast of Alaska) having tasks that we can do at our desks and times that we could meet online with people who know the technologies.

I just wrote an article about information security awareness at industry conferences. Your readers may be interested in reviewing the key things to remember when planning to attend such a conference. For example, it's a good idea to turn off Bluetooth cell phone connections and laptop Wi-Fi connections while on conference property. They can be very attractive for hackers looking to steal address books and other proprietary or confidential information for profit.
