ALCTS, LITA and LLAMA collaborate for virtual forum

The Association for Library Collections & Technical Services (ALCTS), the Library and Information Technology Association (LITA) and the Library Leadership & Management Association (LLAMA) have collaborated to create The Exchange, an interactive, virtual forum designed to bring together experiences, ideas, expertise and individuals from these American Library Association (ALA) divisions. Modeled after the 2017 ALCTS Exchange, the Exchange will be held May 4, May 6 and May 8 in 2020 with the theme “Building the Future Together.” As a fully online interactive forum, the Exchange will give participants the opportunity to share the latest research, trends and developments in collections, leadership, technology, innovation, sustainability and collaborations. Participants from diverse areas of librarianship will find the three days of presentations, panels and activities both thought-provoking and highly relevant to their current and future career paths. The September 2019 issue of Information Technology and Libraries (ITAL) is available now. In this issue, ITAL Editor Ken Varnum announces six new members of the ITAL Editorial Board. Call for 2020 Forum Planning Committee Volunteers

The Forum Planning Committee is looking for volunteers to help plan the in-person Forum in November 2020. This will be a joint event held with the Association for Library Collections & Technical Services (ALCTS), the Library Leadership and Management Association (LLAMA) and the Library and Information Technology Association (LITA). We have openings on the following subcommittees: Accessibility and recording/streaming Sponsorship User experience & sustainability Website and marketing Deliverables Work with the LITA Office to plan and hold the in-person 2020 LITA, ALCTS, & LLAMA 2020. The Committee will decide the catering menus, program content, the schedule, keynote speakers, preconferences, and social events. Expected Time Commitment 1-2 virtual meetings each month, with more scheduled as needed as the Forum date gets closer; requires no face-to-face meetings each year; participants are encouraged to attend but are not required to be there in person at the Forum.
